About Yourself

A Webhead since 2002, Dr. Elizabeth Hanson-Smith is former Coordinator and co-founder of the graduate TESOL program at CSU, Sacramento. An educational technology consultant, software writer, and author, her recent publications include CALL Environments: Research, Practice, and Critical Issues (TESOL, co-edited with Joy Egbert; 2nd ed. forthcoming), and Technology-Enhanced Learning Environments in the TESOL Case Studies series. She was lead designer of the Oxford Picture Dictionary Interactive CD , a Codie Award finalist, and is pedagogical consultant to Live Action English Interactive, a CD-ROM based version of the TPR book . She conducts online courses using collaborative audio and video tools, and manages Real English Online, a group for teachers using video and audio, and Academic Writing, for online composition teachers, which includes exercises and activities based on her software, Constructing the Paragraph. Current projects include a new book on theory and practice in computer-enhanced environments, Learning Languages through Computers, co-edited with Sarah Rilling (TESOL 2006).
